Sustainitech

Sustainitech is a purpose driven agri-tech company focused on creating perfectly controlled indoor growing environments that grow a wide range of high quality crops in any climate, no matter how harsh. Sustainitech’s mission is to enable 1 million new farmers across the world by 2030.
During Odette’s tenure at Sustainitech the company was in a fast paced, high-growth period. Odette played a key role in Sustainitech’s $2MM seed extension capital raise in 2019. She created and fine tuned assets for pitches, researched venture capital firms and conducted outreach, managed the company CRM to ensure timely follow up with leads, and supported the executive team in pitch meetings.
Odette worked to secure over $1MM in grant funds for Sustainitech, overseeing the full life cycle of the granting process. From prospecting and research all the way through to project management and reporting, Odette ensured that Sustainitech delivered on the key objectives associated with each grant.
As part of a small, dynamic team, Odette provided support on a wide range of special projects including technical research, researching project sites, procurement, and preparing quarterly updates to investors.
Case Study: Securing Multi-Year Funding from the National Research Council
During 2019 Odette worked on a proposal to the National Research Council’s (NRC) Industrial Research Assistance Program for funding support for novel, innovative research to improve energy efficiency of Sustainitech Complexes.
Odette liaised with the technical team at the company to outline the proposed innovation, define the project timeline, and identify the necessary team members and materials to successfully complete the proposed work.
Odette outlined the business case for the NRC to support Sustainitech’s research, clearly identifying how the project would support the creation of intellectual property that could be commercialized and support Sustainitech’s existing business model.
