Global Citizen

Global Citizen is a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty by 2030. The Global Citizen platform features engaging content about the systemic causes of extreme poverty and provides tangible opportunities for members to take action on those issues, and earn rewards for their actions — as part of a global community committed to lasting change.
During Odette’s time with Global Citizen she helped grow the nascent Canadian movement. She worked on campaigns on diverse issues including polio, education, the federal aid budget, and water and sanitation. She worked closely with the creative team to develop compelling assets and content that engaged Canadians and encouraged them to take action.
Odette worked on partnerships with corporations, celebrities, music festivals, politicians, and not-for-profit stakeholders to move the needle on the world’s most pressing development issues. Odette conducted meetings with dozens of Members of Parliament and high level corporate prospects. She excels at translating technical data into compelling narratives that call key stakeholders to action.
Case Study: Aldo Shoes x Global Citizen
Odette played a key role in developing the proposal and negotiating a partnership between Aldo Shoes and Global Citizen in support of Global Citizen’s campaign Education for All.
The campaign featured a content partnership that helped Aldo highlight their newly released shoe, the Mx., a gender neutral shoe designed to be worn by everyone. Aldo donated a portion of the proceeds of the sale of Mx. shoes toward Global Citizen’s campaign efforts and featured Global Citizen messaging in Aldo stores across 13 countries.
The inclusive message of both the Education for All campaign and the Mx. shoe made the partnership a natural fit and helped cross leverage Aldo and Global Citizen’s goals and delivering value to both partners.
